Work future

What the hell is going to happen?
All signs point toward elimination of my position during Q1-2008. I can't jump ship just yet, or I'll risk losing the severance package to be named later. I've put my line in the water and have received one good nibble. I can't really land this fish on my line until I receive offical notice of my firing. Waiting is no fun at all.
Huge questions remain. Will the nibble turn into an offer that I want? If I land this undefined job, can I handle it? Can I do the work? Can I put in the hours and the commuting that might be required? Will negotiations break down? Will I end up simply trying to find another job with my current bordello...uh...corporation? Can I make a living driving a truck or selling shoes?
More should become clear early next year.

That's shitty. Loads of companies are downsizing in an effort to avoid massive retirement payouts or because it's cheaper to hire a 22-year-old out of college.

If you need a resume done, let me know. I've got good experience doing just that.
