Interesting fact. George Washington was a disappointment to his mother. No joke.
The bitch thought that he spent too much time and energy on things that were not of his concern (starting with the French-Indian War) and didn't spend enough time, energy on money on her. George made every effort to block her from moving into Mount Vernon with him as she became an invalid. No matter what George did, he never could win her approval.
I find that comforting.
