Corporatespeak makes no fucking sense to me

Corporate bossman says: "You have no responsibilities for the next 6 months. I encourage you to use the time to find a job within the Corporation."
I hear "Do what you want with your time." I had taken this to heart, and had begun to spend very little time at the office. I concentrated my efforts on finding a job outside the company.
He thought he was saying "I order you to find another job within the company. If you don't do what I order, I can make your life even more difficult."
Now, I've got to put some effort into finding a job in a corporation that I don't want to work for. I must do this because the boss can withdraw the substantial severance package that is on the table if he feels so inclined. Yuck.
I wish the guy would just say what the fuck he means rather that verbizing words and making every thought sound so passive that it loses meaning. This is one of the things I HATE most about the culture in the company. I cannot understand this bullshit, and I certainly cannot talk that talk.
Grrrr....the next few months are going to be shittier than that last few. Maybe that's natural. The trend into the shitter has been pretty consistent for the last 5 years.

Corporate despair...the fate of every vital, thinking person who finds themselves in Cubicleland(TM).

I hate corporate double-speak more than I can say. I wish I could tell you to not let it get you down, but that's a hard sell.

You are strong, you are smart and you will overcome this latest bit of bullshit.
