Emotional vacation (some lousy free verse)

I'm an Outlaw

Half a century of emotional baggage kept them apart
Sure, they drifted in and out of their natural ties
But shit happened.
And happened, and happened, and stayed in hardened hearts
Then the baggage shifted under their feet
They all found themselves knocked off kilter
Someone said 'lets try this again'
And they did, and it worked anew for a few precious hours

The 'youngins' didn't know what hit 'em
For they didn't know what was there
The baggage was between them and the bonds
The outlaws could only sit by and cheer
And give a gentle shove when it was needed
But cheer they all did, for they love their spouses
And know...KNOW that the natural bond is the hand of God
A hand that feels good, and is oh so necessary.

- please don't try to put a beat to this, Brandon. It won't work. :-)
