Breakfast table discussion the morning after the election. The 12-year-old is explaining the historic significance of it to the younger sibling.
Older: "It is historic because the President will be black."
Younger: "What do you mean by black?"
"People with dark skin are called 'black' or 'African American'."
"So?"
"Some people think an African American should not be President."
"I don't get it."
Their parents must be doing something right to have instilled this kind of ignorance in their youngest.
